Feed My Starving Children
Nearly 50% of worldwide childhood deaths before the age of 5 are caused by hunger. Feed My Starving Children is a Christian organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals to children worldwide through the generosity of donors and the work of volunteers.
Edgar Community Church has an opportunity to pack meals through FMSC on Thursday, November 13 from 6:30-8:30pm at Highland Community Church in Wausau.
You don't have to have any previous experience or training. You'll receive training on site and spend 2 hours hand-packing rice, soy, dried vegetables and a nutritionally complete blend of vitamins and minerals into bags which are then sealed, boxed, placed on pallets and shipped to ministry partners worldwide. Adults, youth, and kids ages 5 and older are welcome to volunteer. There needs to be 1 adult for every child in Grades K-2, 1 adult for every 3 children in Grades 3-5, and 1 adult for every 4 children in Grades 7-12. There are sit-down jobs, including labeling bags. All jewelry should be removed before bagging meals.
There are a limited number of volunteer positions available, and spots fill up fast. You can sign up on the clipboard at church this Sunday to register, or you can sign up online beginning Friday, October 3.
